Dr. Jared Starr

Violinist Dr. Jared Starr thrives as a versatile performer and dedicated string educator.  He maintains an active performing schedule as a soloist, chamber, and orchestral player including solo and chamber recitals throughout the Florida panhandle, Georgia, and Alabama along with playing regularly with the Ocala Symphony, Tallahassee Symphony, Pensacola Symphony, Northwestern Florida Ballet, and Panama City Pops.  As a string educator, he has worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Florida State along with teaching at Brigham Young University (UT), Live Music Tutor (FL), Mason’s School of Music and Dance (FL), the Montgomery School of Music (AL), and the El-Sistema inspired program, Montgomery Music Project (AL).  He has conducted multiple string clinics throughout Florida, Kansas, and New Jersey and continues to support music education in multiple communities.  Starr holds a D.M. and M.M. in violin performance from Florida State University and a B.M. in violin performance from Brigham Young University.  He believes that all students can reach their greatest potential if they desire it and he looks forward to every opportunity to assist them on that journey.
